vowels is an experimental vocalist, composer, teacher and multi-media artist, renowned for creating highly innovative, thought provoking socio-political vocal performance works. vowels use of extended vocal techniques exploit the female voice to emphasise female oppression. Her use of rubato and crossing over genres is not unusual for vowels as well as destroying articulation in her wordless song.
